Habitat
In undisturbed to slightly disturbed (open sites) mixed dipterocarp, keranga, heath and swamp forests up to 800 m altitude. Often on alluvial sites and near or along rivers and streams, but also on hillsides and ridges. On clay or sandy soils, sometimes over basalt, sandstone or limestone. In secondary forests usually present as a pre-disturbance remnant.
