Terrestrial (Primary Rainforest, Secondary Rainforest, Coastal Forest). It can be found in primary and secondary forests, up to 1,200 m altitude, and also in coastal, and heath forests. In undisturbed mixed dipterocarp, coastal and keranga forests up to 600 m altitude. Often near or along rivers and streams, but also common on hillsides and ridges. On sandy to clay soils. In secondary forests usually present as a pre-disturbance remnant.

Found off Pasir Panjang Road, in Nee Soon swamp forest, and Pulau Ubin.
