Habitat
Terrestrial. Survives in varied habitats ranging from open unshaded regions which include wastelands, rainforest edges, beachfronts, disturbed forests and disturbed areas. Occurs from sea-level to 1700 m altitude in relatively open and disturbed, not too moist habitats, on sandy soils, including kerangas. It is mainly a weed of plantation crops and pastures.
