In undisturbed mixed dipterocarp to secondary forest, keranga, (peat)-swamp, river banks, mangrove and coastal forests up to 600(-1200) m altitude. Mostly on alluvial sites, but also on hillsides and ridges. On sandy to ultrabasic soils.
