Terrestrial (Primary Rainforest, Secondary Rainforest, Dry Monsoon Forest, Freshwater Swamp Forest). Sometimes also in limestone forests. Up to 1,600 m altitude.

It occurs locally in Central Catchment Nature Reserve, Nee Soon Swamp Forest, Pulau Tekong, Pulau Tekong Kechil, Pulau Ubin, Pulau Unum, and Sentosa.
