Terrestrial (Secondary Rainforest, Disturbed Area / Open Ground). It grows along mountain roads and in open country. Found in open sites in mixed dipterocarp forests up to 400 m altitude. Often along rivers and streams and hillsides with poor sandy soils. Also on limestone.
