Nursery stock guide

The nursery inventory records all plants and their stages of growth. There are 6 key stages:
- Germinating stock

- Number of seeds that are germinating or have just germinated.
- Record germinating stock when propagating new seeds.
- Growing (community) stock

- Number of seedlings from the same batch growing in shared containers that house multiple seedlings.
- Increases when propagating seedlings in batches
- Decreases when seedlings from this stage are repotted into individual pots
- Growing (individual) stock

- Number of saplings from the same batch growing in individual containers.
- Increases when repotting seedlings from community trays to individual pots.
- Decreases when saplings from this stage reach a mature height.
- Ready stock

- Number of saplings that have attained the minimum height to be transplanted to our forests.
- Increases when saplings reach the minimum height.
- Decreases when saplings are sent out of the nursery for planting.
- Exported stock

- Number of saplings that have been sent out of the nursery for planting.
- Increases when saplings are exported.
- Dead stock

- Number of seeds/seedlings/saplings that have died. Friendly reminder to change the relevant stocks above when you toss out dead plants!
- Increases when plants die.
